How We Started
Like many business stories you hear, I literally started this business by drop shipping Market umbrellas from distributors out of an apartment in N. California. We leased our first warehouse in Rancho Cordova in 2002. In early 2004 we relocated to Yuba City and doubled our warehouse space. We opened our first retail location on March 1, 2005 in Yuba City, CA.
Our offices and showroom are located at 1100 Garden Highway, Suite 1000, Yuba City, CA 95991.
We will always continue to focus on providing Market Umbrellas to people all over the country. The internet has provided a unique shopping experience to many and will only grow over the coming years. We will continue to provide “Chain store pricing with Specialty Store selection.”
Our Unique Advantages
Many of our online competitors don’t offer the variety and pricing we offer. If they do offer variety, they are usually drop shipping from a distributor at higher prices than us. If they are similar in price, their variety is probably less to make sure they can turn over their inventory.
Over 4 short years, we’ve grown into a company with several national accounts for franchise corporations to make custom logo market umbrellas for their franchisees. We also have numerous restaurant groups that we provide Market Umbrellas for around the country. On top of that, we have several universities, rental shops, outdoor kitchen contractors, Mom and Pop restaurants, amusement parks, etc.. who buy from us regularly. We keep market umbrellas and stands in stock year round to service all of these accounts.
We do something that is somewhat unique in our industry. We provide canvas replacements and frames only to help out customers who have purchased umbrellas from us. As you know, oftentimes when you’re ready to replace your umbrella, the canvas is usually in good shape but the frame is broken, or vice versa, the frame is fine but the canvas is faded or torn. We carry umbrella cleaners and umbrella protectant items that help to extend the life of our products and help to postpone their ultimate fate of going into our landfills. While it does only postpone it, we know that promoting this enables our customers to throw less away while they are doing business with us.
Most stores, online or Major Chain stores, etc…don’t promote this because it’s not very profitable. It makes more sense to their bottom line to focus on selling you an entire new umbrella.
