If you have an enclosed patio, sometimes you want to be able to keep bright sunlight from coming in. You may also want to have some privacy while enjoying your patio, and patio blinds are a great way to accomplish both.

There are a few different kinds of blinds that can be used for your patio. One of these is called vertical blinds. Verticals blinds usually hand downward from a rod or sliding mechanism, and can be opened and shut by turning a rod that controls their movement. They are very easy to clean, and can be purchased in either vinyl or fabric styles. This type of blind is good for allowing light to come in while still maintaining privacy.

Another type of patio blinds is called pleated or cellular shades. While this type of blinds look great, the problem is that they can only be raised or lowered as one piece. In other words, there is really no adjusting this type of blind except to pull them up or down. Aesthetically, however, these are the nicest looking and often the most expensive. For patio blinds, of course you can purchase the traditional horizontal blinds. You may also get them in the mini style as well. Horizontal blinds can be purchased in just about any width and height. If you find that the blinds you choose just don't fit the patio windows, check with some custom blind and shade companies, as most of them can produce blinds to fit almost any sized window. Another plus with horizontal blinds is that they can be purchased in varying colors, and they are great at adjusting the light coming in, as well as determining privacy. Regardless of which type of patio blinds you choose, the goal is to be able to create an environment that is comfortable and that feels safe and private.
